The law firm’s role
The attorney continues to control the legal representation. A provider may ask the firm to confirm representation, claim posture, insurance, liens, prior advances, and other details relevant to its review. The firm is not asked to guarantee an applicant’s obligations.
A focused information request
Efficient review depends on asking for only the information needed at the current stage. Requirements differ by provider and claim, so a request should identify what is needed, why it matters, and where it should be returned.
No interference with the case
Funding should not direct litigation strategy or settlement decisions. Attorneys and clients should review the proposed agreement and address any concerns before signing.
